Carry one dedicated US IPv4 with you. Hotel Wi-Fi, a local SIM, an airport lounge: the services you sign in to see one familiar address.
Updated
On a trip you change networks many times a day: the hotel, the airport, a local SIM, a café. Each one gives you a new address, and each one behaves a little differently.
Hotel and airport Wi-Fi often hold you on a sign-in page until you accept their terms, and a tunnel that is already on can stop that page from loading. Some networks block WireGuard outright. A new SIM or roaming changes your address again.
A new address at every login also brings security checks and lockouts on your accounts; see the static US IP for logins page for that side of it.
Plus for light use, Pro for most people, Ultra for full gigabit.
5× speed · 10× bandwidth · 2 IPs — only $2/mo more
GetAStatic gives you a dedicated public IPv4 in Kansas City, Missouri or San Jose, California. Your phone or laptop dials out to it over WireGuard from whatever network you are on, so the services you sign in to see one familiar address. No inbound ports are opened.
WireGuard copes with network changes on its own. Swap a SIM, start roaming, or walk from the lobby Wi-Fi to mobile data, and the tunnel picks up again with the same address.
When a network blocks WireGuard, try the config on UDP port 443 next; it gets through many hotel and airport networks. If that is blocked too, switch the IP to AmneziaWG in the dashboard. Filters find it harder to spot.
Set it up and test it at home, so your first login abroad is not also your first test.
Keep the config on two devices as a spare, but run it on only one at a time. Two devices on one config knock each other off.
Many banks treat it like any other US address; some ask for an extra check. It is a datacenter IP, so a bank that refuses all hosting addresses will refuse it too.
Turn the tunnel off, accept the hotel's sign-in page, and turn the tunnel back on. Still stuck? Use the port 443 config, then AmneziaWG.
Yes. There is nothing new to import: turn the tunnel on over the new SIM and you have the same US IP. Roaming works the same way, as long as mobile data works.
Yes, one at a time with the same config. To have both on at once, add a second IP for $2/mo, or choose Pro, which includes 2.
Yes. The IP stays the same for as long as your plan is active, wherever you are. Leave it on and your accounts keep seeing one address.
